  • Distinguish confidentiality, integrity, availability, AAA, privacy, and attribution using the evidence in a scenario.
  • Compare risk treatments, governance requirements, control mechanisms, and professional obligations.
  • Evaluate continuity dependencies, recovery targets, awareness behavior, and security metrics.
  • Apply identity lifecycle, least privilege, separation of duties, and access-control conditions.
  • Interpret network layers, segmentation, wireless and embedded-device risks, cloud models, and shared responsibilities.
  • Assess data protection, security monitoring, incident handling, asset changes, and authorized testing.

More about this course

This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.

Knowing a security term is only the beginning. In an entry-level cybersecurity question, you also need to identify the affected asset, the evidence available, the authority to act, and the limits of a control. These practice tests help you make those distinctions without treating every alert as proof or every successful login as permission.

Practice for the ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity (CC) exam outline effective September 1, 2026. Work through 400 original single-choice questions across Security Principles, Security Governance, Identity and Access Management, Networking and Cloud Security Concepts, and Security Operations and Incident Response. Foundational AI scenarios appear where they support those domains, including training-data integrity, automated identities, continuity dependencies, and appropriate handling of sensitive information.

What is included

  • Four mixed-domain practice sets of 50 questions each, with a 75-minute practice allowance per set.
  • Two fixed 100-question assessments, with 120 minutes each and an author-designed approximation of the published domain weights.
  • An explanation for every answer option, a reasoned overall explanation, and a focused study tip for every question.

Build a review cycle

  1. Start with the four practice sets. If a concept is new, take the set untimed and learn from the feedback.
  2. For a missed question, write down the condition you overlooked: data purpose, required permission, recovery objective, trust boundary, or evidence limit.
  3. Revisit the relevant concept before attempting Mock 1 under timed conditions.
  4. Use Mock 2 to apply different conditions and check remaining gaps. Review correct guesses too; remembering a phrase is different from explaining the decision.

Practice includes comparing RPO and RTO outcomes, reading access conditions, evaluating metrics with their denominators, recognizing cloud responsibility boundaries, and interpreting security-test findings within their actual scope. Basic recognition questions support the more applied decisions rather than replace them.

Understand the format limits. These are independent practice materials, not official or recalled exam questions. The official exam uses CAT and may include advanced item types; these fixed single-choice tests do not replicate either. The 80% practice threshold is a study target, not a conversion of the official 700/1000 scaled score or a prediction of passing. This course is not affiliated with or endorsed by ISC2 and does not guarantee certification. It contains practice tests and feedback, rather than a video lecture course or hands-on lab environment.
